The aircraft of the bush strips. One Pratt & Whitney PT6A-114A turboprop and fixed landing gear for gravel and grass. The wing is on top, so it doesn't get in the way of the view.
A pressurised 19-seater with airline seats, tray tables and space under the seat. Two PT6A-67D engines, built for short runways and remote strips.
The Dash 8 carries a full load from short, prepared strips. The -100 has Pratt & Whitney PW120A or PW121 engines; the -200 has the same airframe with PW123 engines for more power and payload. Golf and diving kits can travel only on Dash 8 flights (see Baggage).
A longer Dash 8 with a wider wing and PW123 engines of 2,380 shp. With a full load it flies about 1,200 km.
Extended fleet
Regional jets, three seats abreast, with Rolls-Royce AE 3007 engines. The ERJ-135 has a range of about 3,243 km; the ERJ-145 LR about 2,870 km, and the XR up to 3,704 km. The ERJ-145 hold takes up to 1,200 kg of baggage, the ERJ-135 1,000 kg.
Every Fly ALS flight is operated by ALS Limited, which has flown from Wilson Airport since 1985. ALS holds its own air operator certificate (No. 58) and maintenance approval (K/AMO/L/008) from the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, and has been registered under IATA's Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) since 2011. Its engineers maintain the fleet in ALS's own hangar at Wilson.
